At Hammer Fishing Rods, we strive to build the most durable, lightweight and sensitive rod on the market at an affordable price to meet any budget. Hammer Fishing Rods is a family owned company that values a strong relationship with our fellow angler and customer. We realize the importance of “paying it forward” to assure a bright future in our sport, therefore, we are strong supporters of young angler education. Our rods are manufactured in Harrison Arkansas with the home office located in Pelham, Alabama. One aspect of the rod building process that stands Hammer apart is that each rod is hand wrapped in the homes of women who vary from stay-at-home moms, moms of special needs children or women that offer in home care to elderly adults in an effort to earn extra income for their family.

Hammer Fishing Rods was purchased in February 2012 by Shane and Sandie Cox. Having been an avid angler his entire life, Shane saw a developing love of the sport in his 14 year old son Ty. The two entered into the business with two things in mind; run the business in such a way that it would make a positive impact on the sport of fishing and to work diligently in hopes to provide Ty with a future in the industry. Their vision and ultimate goal remain the same today. 

Ty, now a junior at Blue Mountain College, competes competitively on the collegiate circuit having already secured one win on Kentucky Lake in March 2016 along with a top 5 finish in the 2018 BASS College Series National Championship.

Ty continues to pursue a degree in marketing with plans to step up his role in the business after graduation along with hopes to experience time on the water as a touring pro. In keeping a tight knit family bond, Shane is serving his second year at Blue Mountain College as head fishing coach of the team which Ty is a member.

From quality family time spent together to the most competitive events held on the water, we are proud of our series of rods that will be used to create lifetime memories. We believe after you fish with your first Hammer Rod, it won’t be your last.

Hand-crafted one at a time in Harrison, Arkansas, the Hammer Fishing Casting Rods are built using 100% graphite, hand-rolled blanks for unsurpassed quality. Individually flex-tested before assembly, the Hammer Fishing Casting Rods are built by anglers for anglers with an extreme focus on power, sensitivity, and performance.
